Calidris and TM Software sign a contract on infrastructure management
Sigurður Þórarinsson, managing director at TM Software and Árni Bragason, COO at Calidris, sign the contract.
Calidris and TM Software have signed a contract on set up and operation of the environment that will host the software Calidris Revenue Integrity System, which monitors airlines’ bookings, detects problems, categorises and solves them.
The Calidris Revenue Integrity software will be hosted on TM Software’s blade servers. By using TM Software’s Blade Servers it is possible to add network servers or expand them, all according to needs. TM Software’s Blade Servers are based upon a new technology from IBM; BladeCenter. The technology consists of highly-developed hardware components that are in fact network servers, data disks, switches etc. A new network server is simply slid into the chassis and thereby it gains access to the backbone connections such as connections to the disk arrays, networks and electricity. An advanced management system supports the quick installation of new blade servers with much better management and monitoring possibilities than traditional network servers can offer.
The Austrian Airlines, which services around 15 million passengers per year, will be hosted in this environment. A VPN connection will be set up at Amadeus in Germany and significant data will travel from the Austrian Airlines’s passenger reservation system through the MQSeries application from IBM.
