History of TM Software

TM Software was founded in 1986 in Iceland by former CEO, Friðrik Sigurðsson. The original name of the company was TölvuMyndir, which was formally changed to TM Software in early 2005. Friðrik’s Sigurðsson’s pioneering perception of the role to be played by information and communication technologies (ICT) to perform a multitude of complex tasks has been pivotal to the company’s award-winning vision. From the onset, TM Software’s highly skilled staff has shared this vision, together with the inspiration and entrepreneurial spirit which has been the cornerstone and driving force of the company’s activities. TM Software’s growth and development has not only kept pace with the fast moving ICT industry, but has helped to define and shape it. The company is not only an acknowledged ICT leader in its domestic market of Iceland, but is also a rapidly emerging presence internationally.

Iceland, though not large in size, has been at the forefront of ICT development in many areas. This region which offers the rich benefits of a skilled workforce along with the dynamics and flexibility of a small country, has proven to be an excellent foundation for software development and programming, building a solid base of expertise which has enabled the company to expand internationally, applying its skills and services to a larger customer base.

TM Software has grown rapidly in recent years, both through organic growth and through acquisitions. More than twenty years experience has given TM Software a unique spot on the market in software development, operation, consulting and sale of hardware and software. Today TM Software services more than 1200 customers worldwide.
